Products that are topically used with a variety of components like: Anesthetics (Benzocaine, Cinchocaine, Lidocaine …), steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Betamethasone, Hydrocortisone, Prednisolone, Triamcinolone ….) mucosa protectors (Zinc oxide), antibiotics (Neomycin, Tyrothricin ….) Ruscogenin, Esculin, Ephedrine, Phenylephrine, Calcium dobesilate and other substances. Because of harmlessness of these products and a proven low absorption, they are thought to be safe while breastfeeding. Consider avoiding use of those containing Ephedrine and Phenylephrine since they may cause tachycardia, palpitations and restlessness.
