I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Dextrose, anhydrous? Is Dextrose, anhydrous safe for nursing mother and child? Does Dextrose, anhydrous extracts into breast milk? Does Dextrose, anhydrous has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Dextrose, anhydrous influence milk supply or can Dextrose, anhydrous decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Dextrose, anhydrous (dextrose), as a component of oral re-hydration solutions, fluids for IV use, or, as excipient of drugs, is entirely compatible with breastfeeding. Nevertheless, D/W solutions orally used in neonates just after birth are highly discourage since it may affect initiation of lactation seriously.
