I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use D-Glucose? Is D-Glucose safe for nursing mother and child? Does D-Glucose extracts into breast milk? Does D-Glucose has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can D-Glucose influence milk supply or can D-Glucose decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

D-Glucose (dextrose), as a component of oral re-hydration solutions, fluids for IV use, or, as excipient of drugs, is entirely compatible with breastfeeding. Nevertheless, D/W solutions orally used in neonates just after birth are highly discourage since it may affect initiation of lactation seriously.
