I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Sirup? Is Sirup safe for nursing mother and child? Does Sirup extracts into breast milk? Does Sirup has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Sirup influence milk supply or can Sirup decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Sirup (dextrose), as a component of oral re-hydration solutions, fluids for IV use, or, as excipient of drugs, is entirely compatible with breastfeeding. Nevertheless, D/W solutions orally used in neonates just after birth are highly discourage since it may affect initiation of lactation seriously.
