Shrub from Mexico. Bark is used. It contains tannins, flavonoids, saponosides and alkaloids (indolalquilamine), the latter has toxic effect on the liver. Alleged properties are: analgesic, healing, bacteriostatic and fungicide. Avoid applying it on the breast.
