I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Sulfadoxina? Is Sulfadoxina safe for nursing mother and child? Does Sulfadoxina extracts into breast milk? Does Sulfadoxina has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Sulfadoxina influence milk supply or can Sulfadoxina decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

A low concentration is reached in breast milk. It is commercialized in several countries (not in Spain) together with Pyrimethamine (see the latter drug) as an anti-malarial drug: Fansidar: 20 parts of Sulphadoxine by 1 of Pyrimethamine. Manufacturers give a dosage for children weighing more than 5 kg.
