I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Tyrothricine? Is Tyrothricine safe for nursing mother and child? Does Tyrothricine extracts into breast milk? Does Tyrothricine has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Tyrothricine influence milk supply or can Tyrothricine decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Polypeptide with antibacterial properties which is isolated through fermentation of Bacillus brevis. It contains a mixture of Gramicidin and Tyrocidine.Topically used on skin and mouth infections, often associated with benzocaine.It is highly toxic when systemically used. It has been withdrawn from the market in some countries due to lack of therapeutic effectiveness. Given its negligible systemic absorption and high molecular weight, excretion into breastmilk is highly unlikely. Do not apply on the breast to prevent ingestion by the infant.
