I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use C.I. 440? Is C.I. 440 safe for nursing mother and child? Does C.I. 440 extracts into breast milk? Does C.I. 440 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can C.I. 440 influence milk supply or can C.I. 440 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory topically used which is chemically related to Mefenamic acid. There are also formulations for oral use. Excreted into breast milk in a clinically non-significant amount even after oral administration. Because a low dose used and a poor absorption into the plasma of most dermatological preparations for topical use, its appearance in the breast milk is even less likely. The American Academy of Pediatrics rated it as usual compatible with breastfeeding.
