It is used as a functional test for hormone performance. It is not secreted into breast milk because of a large molecular weight. It is readily destroyed by the child’s stomach acid milieu. Follow-up breast milk production. Keep in mind that there is a known anovulatory effect of lactation that is related to sucking frequency.
