Competitive gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist. Ganirelix accetate is used for treatment of female infertility by ovarian stimulation. On latest update relevant data on breastfeeding was not found. A high molecular weight makes excretion into breast milk unlikely. Because its protein composition it would not be absorbed by the gut. A low oral biodisponibility prevents it from absorption by the breastfed child except in case of prematurity and newborn period.
