I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Hirudin? Is Hirudin safe for nursing mother and child? Does Hirudin extracts into breast milk? Does Hirudin has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Hirudin influence milk supply or can Hirudin decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Hirudin is a 65 aminoacid-containing protein that has a direct inhibitory effect on thrombin, which is extracted from leech. Due to a higher molecular weight, excretion to breast milk and absorption are unlikely.
