When taken by mouth, (11-beta,16-alpha)-16,17-(Butylidenebis(oxy))-11,21-dihydroxypregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione is only about 9% bioavailable; bioavailability in the infant is likely to be similarly low for any (11-beta,16-alpha)-16,17-(Butylidenebis(oxy))-11,21-dihydroxypregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione that enters the breastmilk.
