I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Frovatriptan? Is Frovatriptan safe for nursing mother and child? Does Frovatriptan extracts into breast milk? Does Frovatriptan has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Frovatriptan influence milk supply or can Frovatriptan decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

On latest update relevant data on breastfeeding was not found. Similar to Sumitriptan composition which is known to have a low excretion into breast milk.

No published experience exists with frovatriptan during breastfeeding. If frovatriptan is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, because frovatriptan has a long half-life of 25 to 30 hours, a shorter-acting alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.[1]
