Is Urolin Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Urolin? Is Urolin safe for nursing mother and child? Does Urolin extracts into breast milk? Does Urolin has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Urolin influence milk supply or can Urolin decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Thiazidic diuretic. Long-term treatment with diuretic drugs (particularly those Thiazides with long lasting effect and loop-acting drugs) may inhibit lactation. Use a lower dose as possible, especially during the first postnatal month.

Although amounts of Urolin in milk are not great, its slow clearance may lead to accumulation in the infant, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant. It may also suppress lactation. An alternate drug may be preferred.

Urolin has been used successfully to suppress lactation by giving 200 mg orally right after delivery, followed by 100 mg dailyy for 3 days in conjunction with fluid restriction and breast binding.[2] However, a comparative study found no difference between Urolin 200 mg daily for 7.6 days and placebo in milk leakage and breast engorgement and pain.[3] The added contribution of the diuretic to fluid restriction and breast binding, which are effective in suppressing lactation, has not been studied. There are no data on the effects of diuretics on established, ongoing lactation.
