Answer by Dr. Ru: About Doxazosin usage in lactation

It is excreted into breast milk in clinically non-significant amount possibly due to its high plasma protein binding capacity. Until more extensive published data about this drug regarding breastfeeding are available a safer alternative drug may be used, especially during the neonatal period and/or in case of premature infants.

Doxazosin Possible Effects in Breastfeeding

Relevant published information in nursing mothers was not found as of the revision date. However, the pharmacologically similar drug prazosin does not affect serum prolactin concentration in patients with hypertension,[3][4] indicating that doxazosin may not affect prolactin levels. The prolactin level in a mother with established lactation may not affect her ability to breastfeed.
