Answer by Dr. Ru: About Terazosin usage in lactation

It is an alpha-1-adrenergic blocking agent that is used for treatment of arterial hypertension. Also, used in men for treatment of benign prostate hypertrophy. At latest update, relevant published data on excretion into breast milk were not found. Because of its pharmacokinetics (moderately high molecular weight and high protein-binding capacity) excretion into breast milk in significant amount is unlikely. Since it may be cause of arterial hypotension in the infant, safer options are preferred especially during the neonatal period and in case of prematurity.

Answer by DrLact: About Terazosin usage in lactation

Because no information is available on the use of terazosin during breastfeeding, an alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
