Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Talazoparib? Is Talazoparib safe for nursing mother and child? Does Talazoparib extracts into breast milk? Does Talazoparib has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Talazoparib influence milk supply or can Talazoparib decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Talazoparib usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of talazoparib during breastfeeding. Because talazoparib is 74% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during talazoparib therapy and for one month after the last dose.
