I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Apresolin? Is Apresolin safe for nursing mother and child? Does Apresolin extracts into breast milk? Does Apresolin has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Apresolin influence milk supply or can Apresolin decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

It is excreted into breast milk in clinically non-significant amount. No problem was observed in infants whose mothers were on this medication.Plasma levels in those infants were undetectable or very low. The American Academy of Pediatrics rates it as a medication usually compatible with breastfeeding.WHO List of Essential Medicines 2002: compatible with breastfeeding.

Limited milk level and infant serum level data and a long history of use in postpartum mothers indicate that Apresolin is an acceptable antihypertensive in nursing mothers, even those nursing newborns.
