I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)-? Is Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)- safe for nursing mother and child? Does Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)- extracts into breast milk? Does Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)- has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)- influence milk supply or can Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)- decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Amounts of Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)- ingested by the infant in breastmilk are small and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects. Occasionally disruption of the infant's gastrointestinal flora, resulting in diarrhea or thrush have been reported with penicillins, but these effects have not been adequately evaluated. Penicillin, (2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)- is acceptable in nursing mothers.
