Amounts of 4-Thia-1-azabicyclo(3.2.0)heptane-2-carboxylic acid, 6-((2,6-dimethoxybenzoyl)amino)-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-, (2S-(2alpha,5alpha,6beta))- ingested by the infant in breastmilk are small and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects. Occasionally disruption of the infant's gastrointestinal flora, resulting in diarrhea or thrush have been reported with penicillins, but these effects have not been adequately evaluated. 4-Thia-1-azabicyclo(3.2.0)heptane-2-carboxylic acid, 6-((2,6-dimethoxybenzoyl)amino)-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-, (2S-(2alpha,5alpha,6beta))- is acceptable in nursing mothers.
